All aboard!

Well, not quite yet.

Norfolk-Southern is still eager to tear down the abandoned depot that once served as a freight station for the Reading Railroad. However, the June deadline for demolition plans has come and gone, and the old brick building still stands along Water Street.

Borough officials continue to hold onto hope that the structure can be saved and transformed into a community asset.

Borough Council is reserving July 10 for a possible meeting (time to be determined).
