By on June 5, 2019

Old Zion Church’s annual strawberry social will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m, at 187 Reifsnyder Road, Lititz.

Volunteers will prepare local, homegrown strawberries, a wide variety of delicious cakes served with homemade vanilla ice cream from Fox Meadow Creamery, topped with whipped cream. This $5 dessert purchase will include a choice of beverage.

As per tradition, chicken corn soup will be cooked onsite in a cast iron kettle. The soup includes local chicken and broth from Sensenig’s Poultry, local corn cut from the cob, and fresh homegrown parsley. $3 will purchase a bowl.

The authentic 1813 country church will be open for tours. Music by local group Southbound 897 will enliven the event, while visitors enjoy the scenic view of the Brubaker Valley.

For optimum comfort, bring folding chairs and blankets for seating and trays for food. Your participation in this summertime social is the key ingredient to ensuring the ongoing preservation and future of Old Zion German Reformed Church and cemetery.
