‘Lucky Stiff’ at Dutch Apple

By on February 6, 2019

The musical comedy “Lucky Stiff,” will be staged Feb. 14 through March 16 at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster.

The show is based on the novel, “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo,” by Michael Butterworth, with a tuneful score by Tony winners Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

An unsuspecting shoe salesman, Harry, discovers that his dearly departed uncle, a New Jersey casino owner, has left him $6 million. But there’s a catch! Harry must first take his uncle’s body to Monte Carlo for that last trip of a lifetime. Why should a stiff be denied the joys of skydiving, snorkeling and around-the-click roulette? If Harry fails to fulfill his uncle’s posthumous instructions exactly, the bucks go to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn.

Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees. Tickets include Dutch Apple’s all-you-can-eat buffet. Some showings have served meals. Details, prices and times can be found at dutchapple.com or by calling the box office at 717-898-1900.
