British Car Show, chili cookoff in store for polo fans

Polo season is well underway at Rothsville’s Forney Field, 70 Church St., Rothsville. Matches are held each Sunday at 2:30 p.m.; tailgating begins at 1 p.m.

Upcoming events include:

Aug. 21: Caribbean Cup with tailgating competition.

Aug. 28: Taste of Britain Car and Motorcycle Show. This 27th annual show is sponsored by Lanco MG Club. Registration of vehicles begins at 11 a.m. Those planning to view the cars and stay for the match should plan to arrive prior to 1:30 p.m.

Sept. 4: Reading Symphony Orchestra Cup.

Sept. 11: Porsche Cup.

Sept. 18: Annual Chili Cookoff. To become a contestant, contact Jaca at jacareid@comcast.net by Sept. 13.

Sept. 25: Benefit match for Triangle Therapy Riding.

Oct. 2: Oktoberfest/Craft Beer Sunday.

Oct. 9: George Pucak Memorial Cup and patron appreciation day. Last match of the season.
